Australia Cycle 2003

This was my first long distance adventure trip. I cycled 5,500km from Perth on the west coast of Australia to Sydney on the east coast. This journey took me 60 days to complete. I got knocked down twice by cars and raised over €250,000 for the development charity World Vision. This was a genuine life changing experience as it opened to my mind and got my questioning what was really possible with my life if I truly committed to whatever it was that I wanted to do.

Personal Reflections from this trip

  • When we think we have nothing left, chances are we’ve another 30-40% in the tank
  • If you’ve an idea or a dream to pursue, just go for it – what’s the worst that can happen
  • We can either be in the passenger or the drivers seat of our own lives – we decide.
